How Notes Can Help You Serve & Connect Your Team

Notes are Simple, Fast, and Necessary

When Do Ministries Use Notes?

There are many times you will want to add a note to someone’s record. Maybe you are visiting them in a hospital and you want to open the record on your smartphone and enter a note about your visit. Or maybe you had a counseling session and become aware of a special need. There are also times in children’s ministry where your staff will want to take notes on behavior, progress, or other concerns to share with parents. Greeters may want to take notes on new attendees to help the pastor make a more personal connection when he reaches out (for example, this could give the pastor the opportunity to say “I hear you’re new to the neighborhood” or “I hear you attended this church years ago”). Most areas of your ministry can probably find a way to use notes.

Secure Notes Inside your Church Software

Without the right church software, you’ll have to take the note somewhere on your phone or in a literal notebook that likely won’t be protected if it’s lost, stolen, or just laying open somewhere. Not only that, no matter where you take the note, it won’t be easily and securely accessible by your other staff members. You need a note taking solution that is equal parts easy, accessible, secure.

Add Notes From Anywhere

You can easily add notes to a record in Servant Keeper from your computer or smartphone. In addition, you can control the confidentiality of the note you are entering by marking them private or public. Then, if you choose, you can share private notes with other staff members you collaborate with.

Email Shared Notes

After creating the note, you can even quickly send an email to the staff member you shared the note with letting them know what it’s about and to sign into Servant Keeper to view it. Likewise, staff can take notes from phone conversations or meetings at the church and share them easily with anyone out of the office.

Connect Your Staff and and Serve Your Church Members

Having accurate and accessible notes will help you and your staff to better serve your church members. You’ll be able to stay connected as a team on important and sensitive issues. People in the office, and people out in the field will have an easy way to communicate with each other and stay on the same page. As a result, you’ll be able to better ensure that nobody’s needs are missed, counseling sessions and follow ups are more fruitful, and parents are kept of aware of anything going on while their child is in your care.
